• This instruction is for the customers who purchased PDF templates via Etsy shop. And who are willing to download them to the iPad directly.
• Goodnotes 5 has been released, and the previous version is no longer available at the app store.

You can use almost every PDF printables as a digital template for the Goodnotes and Notability app. I think it’s awesome since I am taking notes in both analog and digital ways. So I’ve made an instruction about downloading and using printables as an iPad digital template.

USE MOBILE BROWSERS

Currently, Etsy’s mobile app does not provide a download function, so please use a mobile browser. And Chrome does not seem to a reliable option for digital downloads from Etsy. I’d recommend using the Safari browser for this task.

DOWNLOAD FILES

STEP 1: Go to Etsy’s website, click ‘Your profile’ then ‘Purchases and Reviews’

STEP 2: Click ‘Download files’ to save PDF or ZIP files.

STEP 3: If it’s PDF, use the Share Sheet to save it to the Files app (iCloud). You could use other cloud services, but iCloud is the most stable option for the iPad.

STEP 4: If it’s ZIP, you’ll see the file on the download list. Click the file name, and the iPad will open the ‘Files’ app automatically. You could use other cloud services, but Apple Files provides automatic unzip function, so this way is my recommendation.

STEP 5: You’ll see the downloaded ZIP file. Now just click the ZIP file, and the iPad will unzip the file for you. (I find this function is so great!)

STEP 1: Open Goodnotes app, click the setting button, then go to ‘Notebook Templates’

STEP 2: Click the ‘Edit’ and ‘Import’ button, then ‘From Files’. And choose the cloud service you’ve saved the template. Locate to the folder and click the PDF you’d like to import.

STEP 3: You’ll be able to see the template on the library now. Create a new notebook, choose your covers and note template. You’re all set!
